first use of the season, defective

I totally understand the return policy. I bought this and did not get a chance to use the backpacking tent until this past weekend. Much to my surprise there was a hole in it. Contacted the seller and their response was that amazon has return policy of 30 days. OK, understood. I dont want to return, I want to exchange and not sure what a manufacture warranty there is, but first time ssetting up, and a hole? that makes it $50 bucks everytime I want to backpack? no thanks, never gonna buy this tent again.
