The Fly Creek UL 4 is a three season, free standing, ultralight backpacking tent. It features a DAC Featherlite NSL pole system with press fit connectors and lightweight hubs - featuring eco-friendly anodizing. All DAC poles are made from TH72M aluminum: the latest technology in lightweight tent poles featuring improved durability. Fly is ultralight silicone treated nylon rip-stop with a 1200mm waterproof polyurethane coating. Floor is ultralight silicone treated nylon rip-stop with a 1200mm waterproof polyurethane coating. Tent body is ultralight breathable nylon rip-stop and polyester mesh. Mesh body offers excellent ventilation. Trail weight refers to poles, fly and tent body. Packed weight includes poles, fly, tent body, stakes, guy lines, stuff sacks, instructions, and packaging. Fast Fly weight refers to the poles, tent fly and accessory Fast Fly footprint.

My two sons and I have been hiking the Florida Trail and had to upgrade our old $26 tent from Target because they have outgrown it. This tent is almost twice as big as our last tent, but is 3 pounds lighter. We have already spent 21 nights in this and we can tell it was designed by hikers. From the well placed 6 pockets inside to the reflective tie down lines we love every aspect of this tent. The UL 4 is sold as a four person tent which the three of us fit comfortable without much room for a 4th person. The large vestibule has enough space that fits all three of our packs with room to still climb in/out without any problem. Set up and take down is extremely quick, usually somewhere around 5 minutes for both. A couple of years ago I would have told you that there is no way I'll spend over $300 for a tent, but with the amount of time we spend sleeping in a tent each year, I now say it's worth every penny.Update 5/20/13: We have used the tent now for 56 total nights on the Florida Trail over the last 6 months where we experienced multiple Thunderstorms, Tornado Warnings, Heavy Blinding Rain, High wind gust up to 54 mph with no leaks or loud tent flapping. Our temperature range at night ran between 25-74 degrees in which I was afraid that this larger tent may not stay warm inside, but it did a great job holding in the heat just as much as our smaller tent has and we had enough ventilation that the warmer nights we were able to get a nice breeze by leaving the vestibule door open.A few nights we did experience quite a bit of condensation inside the tent, but with the high humidity here in Florida I don't think we could ever avoid that.

This tent is as light as they come and has plenty of room for 2-3 people or cramped with 4. It is a nice tent for backpacking because of the low weight. The construction and materials are all quality.
