Not waterproof as stated
By JBChicago
Overall this is a good tent, but I found out the hard way that the tent isn't waterproof. There is a basic problem in the maufacturing of the tent fly. The fly itself is well constructed and the seams are sealed, but after the seams are sealed they stitch on the velcro tabs which hold the fly to the tent poles. When they stitch the velcro on, they don't reseal the stitching, so it leaks. Their "guaranteed waterproof" doesn't help much miles from the car in a downpour at midnight. I've sealed the seams myself now, so we'll see if it helps.Beyond that, the overall set up is easy and logical. There are two main poles that cross to support the tent, and another pole across the front to support the vestibule. It's important to note that the tent without the fly is all mesh, so you can't use the tent by itself unless you don't need ANY privacy. I was orginally skeptical of the vestibule design, but after a few trips I've come to like it. It lets me keep the dirty and wet gear outside, which keeps things cleaner inside. I'm a big guy, so it's a little bit of a pain to duck under the vestibule to go in the tent. The floor seems solid, and the overall material seems more durable than some other coleman tents, such as the Sundome. There is a vent at the top rear of the tent, but it seems like a place to let water and bugs in. The interior space of the tent is good, but you can tell that from the 9x7 footprint. Another feature I would have liked is to have staps to hang a lantern in the top of the tent.Assuming my sealer keeps the tent dry, I'll continue to use it, becuase of the good interior space, but there is real room for improvement in this tent.

a good tent!!!
By Kate Juedes
I bought this tent for my trip to Yellowstone. I loved how I could have it set up in under 10 minutes and that it only took one person. This allowed my friend to get the food cooked faster upon our late arrival to the campsite. It's a good quality tent as far as the material, the zippers work well and don't snag. I love the vestibule and how you can keep shoes and other gear out of the tent, yet protected from the elements. The all mesh tent body has great pros and not so good cons.Pros: The first time I used it was Father's Day weekend. My 5 yr. old nephew and I stayed in it without the rainfly on as it was 70+ degrees overnight (yes even in northern Wisconsin we have great summers). The mesh was a great feature as it allowed us to watch the stars and millions of fireflies which had my chatter nephew speechless. Great experience! ; D You have the feeling of sleeping right out under the stars without the annoying bugs . The size of the tent is great not too big that the tent is annoying to pack or find enough room to setup, yet not too small so that 3 people and a good bit of gear can still fit in it. 4 people really do fit comfortably. The base of the tent is made of good quality/ durable material. It's a little noisy but I'd take noise over a leaky floor any day.Cons: The support sleeves that the poles slide into are made of the same material as the tent body. It'd be better to make these with a more rugged/ durable material as the metal female ends of the poles have rubbed holes through the material in the 4 months i've owned the tent. Also the sleeves made a good space for earwigs to crawl into as earwigs are a common nuisance in northern wisconsin. It'd be better and easier if there were plastic tabs to place over the poles like other tents I've seen in place of the sleeves. Also like another customer mentioned there aren't any loops or hooks to hang a lantern/ flashlight or fan from the top of the tent. Also with the tent body almost entirely mesh, it allows too much air flow on cold night even with the rain fly on. Our first night in Yellowstone the temperature dropped down to 38 degrees and this was in the middle of August. It made for a really cold night. It would have been nice to be able to zip something over the door to protect from the big space of the vestibule where cold air was gathering. The other sides of the tents were close enough that it didn't allow much air flow in, but something over the door would definitely be a nice addition. The stakes are light which make it great for packing, but they also bend pretty easily, I think about 5 of them are bent out of whack already.A few minor adjustments and this tent good tent would be amazing! I know I had a lot of cons, but I really do love this tent. I've just been bringing an extra blanket for insulation and wear my snowboarding baselayers under my sweats at night. Like I said I've only had the tent for 4 mos. but I've used it at least 12 times. I think that speaks for itself. A great tent, easily packed, easily assembled and offers great versatility for weather and a great price with fast shipping from Amazon!

perfect for two!
By cyduke
I bought this for my husband's birthday and we stayed in it for a week for our first anniversary. It rained every afternoon and we stayed perfectly dry. It's a great size for two people. We took a queen size blowup matress and had plenty of room to keep our bags in the tent also. The little room the rain fly makes is a great place to take your shoes off so you don't get the great outdoors in your bed!
